Adoption Guidelines
Adoption is what our shelter relies
on to save animals. We will be able to assist you in finding the
right pet for your particular lifestyle and personality.
To be considered as a potential adopter you must:
- Be 18 years of age or older and
have current photo identification showing your age.
- Be able and willing to provide training, medical care,
and loving attention
to the pet.
- Keep the pet current on all vaccinations and licensing.
- Take your new pet to a veterinarian
within 5 days after the adoption for
an examination.
- Know that the state law requires that all animals adopted
from a Shelter be spayed or neutered and have the pet spayed or
neutered by a specified date.
- Be willing to abide by all rules in
the VVHS adoption agreement.
- Be able to pay the adoption fees.
- We ask that you fill in a pre-adoption
application and turn it in to the
shelter. Fill it in as carefully
and completely as possible. The adoption process may take 24-72
hours. We ask for your patience and cooperation.
