Microchips
Collars come off or can be removed, the microchip remains with the animal!
Get one before it's too late!
We can implant a microchip in your companion animal to assist in its return should it ever be lost or stolen. The small chip (about the size of a grain of
rice) is inserted under the skin and remains in place permanently. You register with a national organization and provide your contact information. Most veterinarians and shelters routinely scan incoming animals to determine if
they are microchipped. If so, they contact the registry and you are notified.
We implant Avid® brand chips, and provide the forms to register with PETtrac™.
There is a $35.00 fee to implant the chip, payable to VVHS, and an additional $15.00 to register the animal, payable to PETtrac. An appointment is required
for microchipping, please call before you come over.

Crate rental is $2.00 per day, with a $30.00 deposit required. The deposit is refunded when the crate is returned.
Trap Rental
If you need to trap a feral cat, raccoon, or other small animal, you can rent a trap from VVHS.
Trap rental is $2.00 per day, with a $75.00 deposit required. The deposit is refunded when the trap is returned.
Euthanasia
When the time comes to help your companion animal, we can offer euthanasia services. We will accept your animal and perform the euthanasia at our facility. You will not be able to accompany your companion at this time. Should you wish to be with your companion during the euthanasia process, you will need
to work with your veterinarian. In either case, we can also offer cremation services (see below).

Cremation
We offer two types of cremation service at VVHS. Mass cremation is offered if you would like your animal cremated and do not wish to have its ashes returned to you. Private cremation is appropriate if you would like the ashes returned to you. The standard for private cremation is to return the ashes in an embroidered velvet bag (contents sealed in a plastic bag inside).
